What each Teachable plan includes
All plans
AI course creation tools, iOS and Android student apps, global payments and tax handling, upsells and cart recovery. Every plan has a 7-day free trial and a 30-day guarantee.
Starter
Up to 5 products, with a 7.5% transaction fee on sales.
Builder
Up to 10 products, no transaction fee, an affiliate programme and real-time support.
Growth
Up to 50 products, plus course certificates, removal of Teachable branding, imported students, custom admin permissions, and free subtitles and translations.
Custom
A dedicated success manager, bulk sales tools, flexible product, student and admin seats, a sandbox school, SLA-based priority support, international tax handling, white-glove onboarding and migration help.
Starter or Builder? Do the maths
Starter's 7.5% transaction fee is the number that matters. The difference between Starter and Builder on annual billing is $40 a month. At 7.5%, that $40 equals the fee on about $533 of monthly sales.
- If you sell less than about $530 a month, Starter is cheaper.
- If you sell more than about $530 a month, Builder is cheaper, and you also get five more products.

Certificates and branding removal only arrive on Growth, so if either matters, compare Growth rather than Builder.
Who Teachable suits
Teachable suits independent creators selling self-paced courses, coaching and digital products to a global audience, who want payments and tax handled for them. It is less suited to academies that teach live batches, run regular tests, or need to manage branches and teams of instructors.
What Teachable costs at three sales levels

At $300 a month in sales, Starter's fee costs $270 a year and it stays the cheaper plan. By $600 a month, Builder is cheaper, and at $1,500 a month Starter costs more than twice as much. If you need course certificates or want Teachable's branding removed, only Growth ($1,668 a year) includes them, whatever your sales.

How much is the 7.5% fee in practice?
At $1,000 a month in sales, Teachable's 7.5% Starter fee is $75 a month, more than the $40 monthly difference between Starter and Builder on annual billing. Payment processing fees are charged separately on every plan.
