Mandatory training, onboarding and CPD across shifts and sites.
Train operators, technicians and supervisors on safety and standard procedures, check understanding with quick tests, and keep training records for every worker, on shared terminals or their own phones.
On a production floor, training is usually delivered by a supervisor walking a new hire through the job. It is effective but inconsistent, hard to prove afterwards, and disappears when experienced staff leave. Meanwhile, safety and quality standards demand that every worker is trained the same way and that the training is recorded.
A learning management system standardises the training, lets workers learn at a terminal or on a phone between tasks, and keeps a record you can show during a safety review or customer audit.
| Area | Examples | How the LMS helps |
|---|---|---|
| Safety | Induction, PPE, lockout procedures, hazard awareness, fire drills | Mandatory course with a test and certificate before work starts |
| Standard operating procedures | Machine setup, changeovers, cleaning, inspections | Short video lessons that show the procedure step by step |
| Quality | Quality standards, defect recognition, documentation | Consistent training across shifts and plants |
| Multi-skilling | Cross-training operators on additional machines or lines | Records of who is trained on what, to plan shifts |
| Supervisor development | Leading teams, toolbox talks, problem solving | Live sessions with attendance and follow-up tasks |
The quickest way to capture a procedure is to film an experienced operator doing it. Upload the video, add the written steps as a document and finish with a short quiz. Courses can combine video, audio, PDFs, slides and embeds.
Workers can learn in the mobile app on their own phones or in a browser on a shared terminal in the break area. Higher plans add offline lessons for areas with poor connectivity.
Batches let you assign training to a line or shift and schedule toolbox talks or refreshers for each group, with attendance recorded automatically for live sessions.
Reports show who has completed each course, their test results and their attendance, on every plan, so supervisors can see who is cleared for which task. Certificates can be issued on completion.
Manufacturers with multiple sites can keep each plant separate on higher plans while head office controls the core safety and quality curriculum.
Language matters on the floor. You can build separate versions of a course in each language your workforce uses, so every worker learns in the language they understand best.
