How to make an attendance sheet
- Enter the institute, class and teacher.
- Pick the month. The sheet gets the right number of days, each with its weekday.
- Choose the weekly off (Sunday, or Saturday and Sunday) and add any holidays as day numbers.
- Paste student names, one per line. Add a roll number as "12, Name" to get a roll column.
- Set the minimum attendance, for example 75%.
- Download Excel to mark attendance on a computer, or print / save as PDF for a paper register.
What is in the Excel file
- A column for every date labelled with its weekday.
- Weekly offs and holidays pre-filled as H, and left out of percentages.
- Dropdowns for P (present), A (absent), L (leave) and H (holiday).
- Automatic totals of present, absent and leave days, and attendance % for each student.
- Anyone below your minimum shows in red, absences show in red and presents in green.
- A daily count of how many students were present.
- Frozen headers so names and dates stay visible as you scroll.
Everything runs in your browser. Names, marks and logos are never uploaded to AcadifyLab or anyone else.
How attendance percentage is worked out
Attendance % = present ÷ (present + absent + leave) × 100. Holidays and weekly offs are not counted. A student present 20 days, absent 3 and on leave 1 has 20 ÷ 24 = 83%.
Generator or template?
Use this generator when you want a register for a specific month with your students' names already in it. If you want a blank register to reuse, download the attendance sheet template instead.

Is the attendance sheet generator free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and you can make as many sheets as you need.
Does the Excel file work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Dropdowns, formulas and colours carry over.
Can I mark Saturdays as working days?
Yes. Choose Sunday as the only weekly off, or None if you work every day.
How many students can I add?
Up to 200 per sheet. You can also add five blank rows for students who join later.
Can I add roll numbers?
Yes. Type each line as roll number, comma, name, for example 12, Aarav Gupta.
Is attendance recorded automatically for online classes?
